Project Background
Project Background
Farmer groups expressed concerns regarding the plume issue, which led to reduced yields. Additionally, they faced problems with residential developments in the area due to the use of chemicals, causing disturbing odors for the local community. Prolonged use of chemicals also resulted in soil degradation, plant diseases, insect infestations damaging agricultural produce, and poor health among farmers. Acknowledging these issues, the Company initiated a CSR project to improve the quality of life for farmer groups, named the "Sufficiency Economy Organic Farming Project," which has been ongoing since 2015 to present.
Target Group:Farmer groups in Maptaphut Municipality, comprising 3 communities:

Khod Hin Mittraphap Community
Khao Phai Community
Note: Currently, the number of plots participating in the project is 16 plots (approximately 57 rai). 10 plots are organic certified, and 3 plots are certified for safe agriculture.

Project Goals 2015-2019
Building strong communities through sustainable organic farming practices.
To restore the health of people, soil, water, farms, and the environment.
To expand the network of farmers in Rayong province to adopt organic practices and develop towards organic agriculture certification standards (TAS 9000), by initiating the conversion of 2 hydroponic plots to organic farming.
To enhance knowledge transfer capabilities to develop personnel within organic farmer groups towards becoming experts in fermented water, fragrant soil, and hormones, which are key factors in organic farming.
Goals for 2020
To expand knowledge in organic agriculture to agricultural plots in Maptaphut Municipality and Rayong province, with 100 interested individuals visiting and studying at the Sufficiency Economy Organic Farming Learning Center.
To establish a network of young organic farmers (out-of-classroom learning) for local primary schools (Target for 2020: Wat Khod Hin School, Ban Maptaphut School), involving 180 students.
To develop the Khod Hin and Khao Phai areas into a production and distribution center for safe food, increasing income by more than 1 million baht.
To have 50 new members apply to join the organic farming project.
To use 100% environmentally friendly packaging.
To make organic vegetables available in the market.
