Rayong Province Mineral and Rock Resources Research Center

Formerly known as the "Mineral and Rock Study and Research Center," it was established in 1981 on an area of approximately 24 rai. In the past, it served as a research site for the offshore mineral exploration project in the Gulf of Thailand, collecting significant mineral and rock samples from various sources nationwide. It housed various buildings for research work, including the Economic Geology Division office building, the Gulf of Thailand Offshore Mineral Exploration Project office building (currently renovated into an exhibition building), a building for storing mineral and rock samples obtained from the Accelerated Mineral Exploration and Potential Assessment Project, a rock cutting facility, and a high-temperature furnace laboratory (for gemstone firing) for research and gemstone quality enhancement. Currently, the Rayong Province Mineral and Rock Resources Research Center displays its existing samples in an exhibition format to disseminate knowledge about minerals and rocks to interested individuals. Subsequently, the service area was developed and improved to become a full-fledged museum and learning center, commencing trial operations as a museum for the first time in 2010. It features two exhibition sections: an indoor exhibition within the exhibition building and an outdoor exhibition in the geological garden.
