Minutes of the Meeting of the Working Group for Monitoring the Implementation of Environmental Impact Mitigation Measures for BLCP Power Company Limited's Coal-Fired Power Plant and Coal Terminal Project No. 2/2568 was held on Monday, March 10, 2568, at Generator Meeting Room (Room 101). Mr. Damnern Sarasee, acting as Chairperson of the Committee, opened the meeting, and the meeting acknowledged the minutes of Meeting No. 1/2568.
Environmental impact monitoring results for January-February 2568 showed that 5 coal shipments had a maximum sulfur content of 0.53% and an average of 0.44%, which complies with EIA requirements. Electricity generation from Unit 1 was 418,083 megawatts, and Unit 2 was between 450,892-495,048 megawatts. Average raw water consumption was 1,672.21-1,895.10 cubic meters/day, and treated wastewater quality met the standards.
Waste management showed 30.44-35.49 tons of non-hazardous waste and 4.72-75.89 tons of hazardous waste, which were sent for disposal by licensed companies. Heavy ash amounted to 3,316.12-6,068.92 tons/month, and fly ash to 28,323.66-45,739.03 tons/month. Air quality from stack emissions and ambient air quality in general, as well as water quality discharged from the cooling water canal, all indices met the specified standards.
During the meeting, inquiries were made regarding wastewater sludge disposal, which currently uses landfilling in accordance with new regulations, and the management of coal conveyor belts that have been improved and repaired, as well as the temporary storage of deteriorated insulation in Big Bags. Recommendations included preparing sufficient and secure storage areas for hazardous waste and adding coal source information to the presentation.
