BLCP Power Station held the 91-2/2568 meeting of the Environmental Impact Prevention, Mitigation, and Monitoring Plan Oversight Committee for the Coal Transshipment Port Project on June 24, 2025, at Meeting Room 204, Map Ta Phut Industrial Port Office Building. Representatives from the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, Pollution Control Department, Map Ta Phut Municipality, various communities, and BLCP Power Company Limited attended the meeting to acknowledge the operational results and various monitoring outcomes.
The meeting acknowledged environmental impact prevention and mitigation measures for marine ecosystems and seawater quality, such as the design of a Slow Flow system at the cooling water discharge canal outlet and the installation of Bar Screens and Traveling Screens to reduce the loss of marine organisms. Additionally, the meeting acknowledged the results of air quality monitoring from stacks and in the general atmosphere, noise levels, wastewater quality from the wastewater treatment system, water quality discharged from the cooling water discharge canal, seawater temperature, and seawater quality in the Map Ta Phut Bay area and the coal transshipment pier during March-May 2025, all of which met the specified standards.
Regarding the operations of BLCP Power Station and Coal Transshipment Port during March-May 2025, a total of 1,027,488 tons of coal were received, with an average sulfur content of 0.44%, which is within the specified criteria. Net electricity generation totaled 1,482,014 MWh for Unit 1 and 1,482,054 MWh for Unit 2. Additionally, 153,206.74 tons of fly ash and 15,383.94 tons of bottom ash were exported, along with the management of 27.74 tons of hazardous waste and 335.19 tons of other non-hazardous waste, all conducted in accordance with relevant regulations.
The Committee also acknowledged the summary of compliance with the project's environmental impact mitigation measures, covering air quality, noise levels, marine ecosystems and seawater quality, waste management, and visual impact. It was found that the project fully complied with all measures, including resolving the issue of temporary waste storage caused by a permit renewal problem.
Regarding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities during March-May 2025, BLCP Power Station implemented various projects, such as local tax returns, the development of the "Leaf Fertilizer" project, the construction of a waste barrier in the Rayong River, the release of aquatic animals, beach clean-ups, support for community tourism, vocational education development, scholarship grants, and mobile medical unit activities.
