The BLCP Power Station's CEMS report for May 2024 presents air pollutant emission measurement data from the stacks of generating units 1 and 2 throughout May. This includes sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), opacity, and total suspended particulate (TSP).
The measurement results show that all types of air pollutant emissions from both generating units were consistently below both Thailand's legal emission standards and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) standards throughout May 2024.
For sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx), measured values were below the EIA standards of 262 ppmvd@7%O2 and 241 ppmvd@7%O2, respectively, and also below the legal standards of 320 ppmvd@7%O2 and 350 ppmvd@7%O2, respectively. Generating units 1 and 2 were shut down approximately from May 8-15, 2024, which significantly reduced emission levels.
Opacity and total suspended particulate (TSP) measurements were also below the prescribed standards. Specifically, TSP values were below the EIA standard of 43 mg/m³@7%O2 and the legal standard of 120 mg/m³@7%O2. During May 8-14, 2024, when generating units 1 and 2 were shut down, TSP emissions significantly decreased.
