BLCP joins in driving "Rayong Zero Food Waste 2026," sharing waste management innovations for a sustainable Rayong Province.
BLCP Power Limited (BLCP) participated in the Knowledge & Experience Expo, a learning and experience exhibition on waste management, under the "Rayong Zero Food Waste 2026" project, "Rayong Doesn't Mix Waste," from July 23–24, 2569, at the front plaza of Central Rayong shopping center. This participation aimed to raise awareness of sustainable waste management and promote engagement from all sectors in driving Rayong Province towards a low-carbon society and a Circular Economy.
The event was honored by Mr. Kanchai Thepworachai, Deputy Governor of Rayong Province, who presided over the opening ceremony, along with Mr. Kitti Kiatmontri, Deputy Chief Executive of Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization, and a large number of representatives from government agencies, private sectors, educational institutions, and the public.
BLCP presented its knowledge and innovations in resource management through activities at its booth, which attracted significant interest from many attendees. These included:
Seacrafty, a project to add value to used fishing nets by transforming them into creative products, along with a workshop on making keychains from marine debris.
Black Soldier Fly (Maejo Worm), an innovation for transforming food waste into resources, along with a demonstration of organic salad vegetable cultivation and the distribution of Maejo Worm fertilizer.
A display of organic waste management from leaf litter, where BLCP, in collaboration with Map Ta Phut Municipality, demonstrated the process of transforming leaf litter into ready-to-plant soil to reduce burning, decrease waste volume, and enhance the value of natural resources.
Additionally, on July 24, 2569, Mr. Adisorn Wangmoon, Director of Finance and Corporate Administration, BLCP Power Limited, participated in a panel discussion on the topic "Rayong Doesn't Mix Waste: Transforming Waste into Value for a Sustainable Rayong Environment," along with representatives from government, private sectors, and environmental experts, to exchange experiences and practical waste management approaches.
During the discussion, Mr. Adisorn shared BLCP's organic waste management approach, which begins with sorting and managing food waste within the power plant's canteen before further developing it with Black Soldier Fly (Maejo Worm) innovation to decompose organic waste, effectively reducing waste volume and maximizing the benefits of the resulting products. This includes processing Maejo Worm castings into high-quality organic fertilizer for green spaces and agriculture, and utilizing the larvae as a protein source for animal feed, such as for chickens and fish, as well as developing them into dog treats. This reflects the Circular Economy concept of transforming waste into valuable resources and creating economic, social, and environmental value.
BLCP's participation in this event reflects its commitment to operating its business in conjunction with environmental care and fostering collaboration with government agencies, private sectors, and communities to collectively drive efficient waste management, reduce the consumption of new resources, and jointly propel Rayong Province towards long-term sustainable development.
