BLCP develops "Healthy School, Organic Farming Way" (ECO School) to bring green hearts to the Rayong community, while delivering COVID-19 prevention equipment and clean restrooms, prioritizing hygiene and safety for Wat Samnak Kathon School in Rayong

February 18, 2021 - Mr. Yuthana Charoenwong, Managing Director of BLCP Power Limited (BLCP), delivered 6 student restrooms, totaling 417,574 Baht. Concurrently, he presented an organic vegetable garden and a water spray system, totaling 50,000 Baht, along with COVID-19 prevention equipment, which included 2 automatic body temperature scanners (with stands), 500 surgical masks, and 50 face shields, totaling 23,750 Baht. The total value of all donations was 491,324 Baht, provided to Wat Samnak Kathon School in Ban Chang Subdistrict, Rayong Province.

 

Mr. Yuthana Charoenwong, Managing Director of BLCP Power Limited (BLCP), stated that the company has prioritized youth education from the outset, especially for local schools, which serve as a second home where young people spend most of their time engaging in various activities. If the school environment is unsafe, it increases the risk of unforeseen accidents or crimes. School restrooms, in particular, pose a risk of accidents or crimes within the school due to their secluded locations. Therefore, the company supported the construction of restrooms for Wat Samnak Kathon School in Samnak Thon Subdistrict, Ban Chang District, Rayong Province, a small school with 165 students. This was due to the dilapidated condition of the school's existing restrooms and the expansion of Highway No. 3376, Ban Chang District Line, Soi 13 of the Self-Help Settlement in Rayong Province, which raised the road level above the school fence, creating a risk of outsiders entering and committing unexpected acts against students.

 

Furthermore, the company introduced the "Healthy School, Organic Farming Way" (ECO School) project to Wat Samnak Kathon School by delivering an organic vegetable garden. This initiative allows teachers and students to learn about planting chemical-free vegetables through the organic curriculum "Good Kitchen Garden Vegetables, Plantable All Year Round." The harvested vegetables can be used for student lunches at the school, and any surplus can be sold to the surrounding community. This enhances learning skills outside the classroom, developing the school to focus on improving teaching and learning through activities that foster environmental management within the school. It empowers youth to transform the world towards sustainability through enjoyable learning, commitment to action, and social responsibility.
