BLCP Power Limited (BLCP) prioritizes the livelihoods of local small-scale fishing groups. Due to the high cost of fuel for each fishing trip, BLCP consulted with the small-scale fishing groups and initiated the "Suspended Mussel Farming" project from 2005 to the present (2021), totaling 17 consecutive years. The company hired experts to train and teach self-sufficient mussel farming methods. This empowers fishermen with knowledge from operating mussel rafts, leading to continuous career development and income generation.

This empowers fishermen with knowledge from operating mussel rafts, leading to continuous career development and income generation.
Currently, fishermen engaged in suspended mussel farming include the Takuan-Ao Pradu Small-Scale Fishery Group (73 members), the Pak Khlong Takuan Local Fishery Group (11 members), and the Hat Saeng Ngoen Small-Scale Fishery Group (7 members), totaling 91 members. This is considered a significant large-scale mussel farming source in Rayong Province. Specifically, the Takuan-Ao Pradu area can produce an average of 5 tons/member/production cycle. Annually, total mussel production is approximately 350 tons/year. With increasing experience and expertise, the Takuan-Ao Pradu Small-Scale Fishery Community Enterprise Group has added value to mussels by developing processed mussel products at a household industry level. This aims to expand their occupation and generate additional income. These products are delicious, have a long shelf life, and can be enjoyed as snacks, appetizers, or used in cooking, such as dried mussel salad.
Processed mussel products include:
- Mussel Crackers (for self-frying) 0.5 kg for 150 Baht. Order 1 kg for free delivery.
- Dried Mussels 0.5 kg for 300 Baht. Order 1 kg for free delivery.
- Seasoned Crispy Fried Mussels (Original, Tom Yum, Mala flavors) 50 Baht per bag, excluding delivery fee.
