Mr. Woravit Lertbutsarakam, Senior Deputy Managing Director for Plant Operations, TPI Polene Power Public Company Limited (TPIPP), revealed that the company expects to achieve full power generation of 440 megawatts this year, having already received the power generation license for the 70-megawatt waste-to-energy and coal-fired power plant (TG7) from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), and will commence commercial operation in early August.
As for the 150-megawatt coal-fired power plant (TG8), it is expected to receive its license from the ERC in this Q4, bringing the total commercial operation capacity to 440 megawatts as targeted.
As a result, the company expects its revenue in 2562 to increase to 10-11 billion baht, with a profit of approximately 4 billion baht, which is higher than the previous year's net profit of 2.59 billion baht, although lower than the target of 5 billion baht due to the new power plants commencing commercial operation later than planned.
TPIPP plans to issue debentures worth 25 billion baht to support new future investments both domestically and internationally, particularly projects in Vietnam, Myanmar, and the Philippines. Currently, the company is studying various types of power plants, such as waste-to-energy, coal-fired, and natural gas, which marks the company's first overseas investment.
Regarding domestic investments, the company is preparing to bid for two waste-to-energy power generation projects for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) in On Nut and Nong Khaem areas, each with a capacity of 20 megawatts, and a project in Nakhon Ratchasima Province with a capacity of 10 megawatts. It is expected that both agencies will open for bidding this year. If all three projects, with a combined capacity of 50 megawatts, are selected, they will require an investment of approximately 10 billion baht and are expected to commence power dispatch into the grid by late 2563. However, this is still contingent on the ERC announcing the next round of waste-to-energy power purchases.
