BLCP Power Station's January 2018 Ambient Air Quality Report summarizes the results of air quality measurements in the areas surrounding the power plant. Measurements included Total Suspended Particulate (TSP) and Particulate Matter less than 10 microns (PM10), as well as Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) and Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) gases from 4 monitoring stations.
The measurement results for Total Suspended Particulate (TSP) throughout January 2018 consistently showed 24-hour average values below the legal standard of 330 micrograms per cubic meter. Even during the period noted as "Station D: During Maintenance," the measured values remained clearly below the standard.
For Particulate Matter less than 10 microns (PM10), the 24-hour average values measured throughout the month were also below the legal standard of 120 micrograms per cubic meter. Although foggy weather conditions were noted from January 18-20, PM10 values remained within the prescribed standards.
Regarding Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) measurements, the maximum hourly values measured throughout January 2018 were very low compared to the legal standard of 300 parts per billion (ppb). Similarly, Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) showed maximum hourly values significantly below the legal standard of 170 parts per billion (ppb).
Overall, the January 2018 ambient air quality measurement results for BLCP Power Station from all 4 monitoring stations, namely Wat Takuan, Maptaphut Municipality, PTT Housing, and Wat Mab Chalood, indicate that all types of air pollutants measured were within the legally prescribed standards throughout the month.
