March 12, 2020 – BLCP Power Station, represented by its Managing Director (Mr. Yuthana Charoenwong) and Director of Human Resources and Corporate Support (Mr. Adisorn Wangmoon), participated in the opening ceremony of the Map Ta Phut Municipality Public Health Service Center in Rayong Province. The Mayor of Map Ta Phut Municipality (Mr. Thawin Photibua Thong) graciously presided over the ceremony to provide the public health service center for the benefit of the people of Map Ta Phut.

On this occasion, the Managing Director and the Director of Human Resources and Corporate Support jointly delivered materials and equipment for making washable cloth masks. These will be used for training in mask production and distributed to those in need, such as senior citizen clubs in the Map Ta Phut area and Village Health Volunteers (อสม.), totaling 1,600 pieces.

Mr. Yuthana stated that BLCP recognized the urgent need arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused a shortage and high prices of face masks. Therefore, BLCP collaborated with Map Ta Phut Municipality, Mab Chalood Community Fabric Product Enterprise, Huay Pong Market Community Garment Screen Enterprise, and Koh Kok Village Health Volunteer (อสม.) volunteers to produce "washable cloth masks," with a maximum production capacity of 200 pieces per day, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The company sourced standard raw materials produced by Thai Taffeta Co., Ltd., which are certified by the BTTG Institute in England and Unitika in Japan, and are internationally recognized. These microfiber masks enhance particle trapping, can filter down to 0.3 Micron, and are Clean Room Class 100. The inner layer is water-absorbent, and the outer layer is waterproof to block secretions. Furthermore, they can be washed and reused up to 50 times.

Initially, these community enterprises will produce 4,400 pieces for BLCP to serve as reserve masks for company use, ensuring preparedness for the situation, and for appropriate donation to public agencies. This initiative also creates jobs and generates income for the community.

As an energy industry group, BLCP Power Station has a crucial mission to care for society, the community, and the environment. In addition, BLCP has implemented internal management measures to address various potential impacts, both those already executed and those being monitored. The company has also developed a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to cope with the potentially escalating COVID-19 outbreak.

Mr. Yuthana concluded, "The company is ready to support senior citizen clubs and Village Health Volunteers (อสม.) to empower seniors to drive society, strengthen communities, and serve as centers for various activities.
