BLCP Power Station, in collaboration with local agencies and network partners, released over 1.3 million aquatic animals, continuously enhancing Rayong's marine ecosystem for the 21st consecutive year.
November 29, 2023 – BLCP Power Company Limited (BLCP Power Station), represented by Mr. Adisorn Wangmoon, Director of Administration and Corporate Relations, together with Rayong Provincial Fisheries Office, Marine and Coastal Resources Office 1 (Rayong), Rayong Provincial Natural Resources and Environment Office.
Map Ta Phut Industrial Port Office, Small-Scale Fishermen Group, GECCO-ONE Co., Ltd., SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited, PTT Group, Star Petroleum Refining Public Company Limited, Bangkok Synthetics Co., Ltd., Covestro (Thailand) Co., Ltd., AGC Vinythai Public Company Limited, jointly organized an aquatic animal release activity to increase marine and coastal resources in Rayong Province (for the 21st consecutive year) at the Ban Haad Saeng Ngoen Small-Scale Fishermen Group, Noen Phra Subdistrict, Mueang District, Rayong Province. Mr. Aran Jaitang, Deputy Mayor of Map Ta Phut City, presided over the ceremony.
The objective of this aquatic animal release activity is to increase the quantity of marine life, help maintain ecological balance, boost income for the fishing profession, and foster awareness for marine resource conservation and environmental protection in residential communities, while building good relationships among government agencies, local communities, and industrial operators in Rayong Province.
The aquatic animals released on this occasion included:
• Black Tiger Prawns: 1,298,000 individuals
• Sweet Clams: 19,000 individuals
• Blue Swimming Crab broodstock: 999 individuals
Totaling 1,317,999 individuals (one million three hundred seventeen thousand nine hundred ninety-nine individuals). All these aquatic animals were sourced from Ban Phayoon Aquatic Animal Farm, under the community enterprise of Mueang District and Ban Chang Samakkee District Small-Scale Fishermen Club.
Mr. Adisorn Wangmoon, Director of Administration and Corporate Relations at BLCP Power Station, stated that it is a pleasure to witness the collaboration and unity of all sectors, especially the aquatic animal release activity, which has been continuously organized for the 21st year. This stems from the cooperation of government agencies, the industrial sector, and local fishing groups, growing and progressing together, while also being ready to embrace the changes in Rayong Province, which will be developed under the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project. This project aims to support the enhancement of national competitiveness, promote economic growth, increase employment, improve the quality of life and income of the people, and sustainably develop all community sectors, in line with the ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) framework and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which BLCP Power Station has consistently upheld.
