Aquatic Animal Breeding Farm Project
Background and Rationale
The Group of 7 Companies and S.T.R. collaborated to launch an aquatic animal release project to compensate for and increase aquatic animal populations, supporting local small-scale fishing livelihoods. Hundreds of thousands of aquatic animals were released 9 times a year. Each time, aquatic animals had to be be purchased from government agencies outside the area, at a cost of tens of thousands of Baht per release. BLCP Power Station recognized the difficulties faced by local fishermen in this regard and therefore initiated the Aquatic Animal Breeding Farm Project for blue crabs and marine shrimp to enable small-scale fishing groups to breed and sell aquatic animals themselves.

Objectives
To generate sustainable income for members of the aquatic animal breeding groups within the 13 local small-scale fishing groups who have formed a community enterprise.
To equip fishing groups with knowledge in accounting and group management, enabling them to establish an accounting system showing income and expenses.
To compensate for and increase aquatic animal populations for small-scale fishing livelihoods.
To foster awareness and consciousness in conserving natural resources.
To build good relationships between BLCP Power Station and Ban Phayun Small-Scale Fishing Group and the Community Enterprise of Mueang and Ban Chang Districts Samakkee Small-Scale Local Fishermen's Club.
