BLCP Power Station successfully underwent a remote audit by Bureau Veritas Certification (BVC) on March 22, 2021, to maintain its Occupational Health and Safety Management Standard (ISO 45001) and Environmental Management Standard (ISO 14001), with no non-conformities found. Additionally, the company participated in the 2021 Provincial and National Outstanding Safety Establishment Awards project and received the CSR-DIW Continuous Award for the 12th consecutive year from the Department of Industrial Works.
In February 2021, BLCP Power Station signed the first Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Rayong province for the "Seagrass Planting Research Project" to conserve and restore resources around Koh Saket, in collaboration with the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources Region 1, the Eastern Gulf of Thailand Marine and Coastal Resources Research and Development Center, and Maptaphut Municipality. Previously, in 2020, 400 clumps of seagrass (needle seagrass and Enhalus acoroides) were restored with a 65% survival rate, and the area will be expanded by 4-10 rai in 2021.
In terms of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), BLCP participated in the Co-payment project, employing 13 new graduates with the government supporting 50% of their salaries. Additionally, annual scholarships totaling 1,300,000 Baht were awarded for 2020 to children and youth in the Huay Pong Market and Wat Chak Luk Ya communities, marking the 19th consecutive year of support. Other CSR activities from November 2020 – March 2021 included: participating in "Elderly Activities" at 6 public health service centers, providing financial support for a charity golf tournament, attending the "Ban Chang Seafood Festival" press conference and donating 2,000 bottles of drinking water, participating in aquatic animal release activities to enhance marine and coastal resources, installing a "grease trap and wastewater system" at Wat Krok Yai Cha School, and donating 70 automatic body temperature scanners along with COVID-19 prevention equipment, totaling 491,324 Baht, to Wat Samnak Katon School.
A summary of the power plant and coal-handling port operations from October 2020 – February 2021 shows a total import of 1,441,437 tons of bituminous coal from 11 shipments. The average sulfur content in 2020 was 0.41% (maximum 0.50%), and in 2021 (up to February), the average was 0.42% (maximum 0.49%), which complies with EIA requirements. Environmental quality monitoring results for the power plant and coal-handling port during the same period were all within standard limits, and preventive measures were strictly followed.
