April 17, 2020 – Mr. Adisorn Wangmoon, Director of Human Resources and Corporate Support at BLCP Power Limited, delivered "1,000 cloth masks" to the Thai Maritime Enforcement Command Center (TEMCC) Region 1 for distribution to TEMCC Region 1 personnel for use during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
BLCP Power Station collaborated with Map Chalood Community Fabric Product Enterprise, Talad Huay Pong Community Garment Screen Printing Enterprise, Ban Bon Community Fabric Sewing Group Enterprise, Koh Kok Village Health Volunteer (VHV) volunteers, and Small Fishing Boat Laundry Service Group Enterprise to jointly produce washable cloth masks.
For these cloth masks, the company sourced standard fabric certified by BTTG, UK, and Unitika, Japan. This fabric can filter particles down to 0.3 microns, is microfiber for enhanced particle capture, is fine-textured, lightweight, breathable, quick-drying, and is Clean Room Class 100, washable up to 50 times. After sewing, each mask undergoes a baking process at 60 degrees Celsius, ensuring its safety and suitability for the general public, especially the elderly. This initiative helps alleviate the shortage of face masks, aids in preventing and addressing the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and also generates income for the community.
