The Khao Lam Merit-Making Festival is held annually on the 15th day of the 3rd lunar month to express gratitude and contentment, preserve Buddhist traditions, and make merit in appreciation of rice that sustains life. Villagers bring newly harvested rice to roast into Khao Lam, a traditional sweet dessert of Rayong. This festival also fosters love and unity within the community.
Preparations for the Khao Lam Merit-Making Festival begin early on the day before the full moon (Wan Gon). Villagers bring Khao Lam along with savory and sweet dishes to make merit together at the temple, a practice that passes on the cultural tradition of the Khao Lam Merit-Making Festival to future generations.
BLCP Power Company Limited has continuously participated in preserving this beautiful tradition and provided financial support for the community's Khao Lam Merit-Making Festival in the Map Ta Phut area for 2019.
The Khao Lam Merit-Making Festival 2019 was held from February 6-12, 2019. BLCP Power Station supported and participated in preserving this tradition to conserve local traditions within the Map Ta Phut Municipality, Rayong Province.
