The BLCP Power Station Tripartite Committee Meeting No. 70-4/2561 was held on Wednesday, December 12, 2561, from 14.00 – 16.30 at the Meeting/Seminar Room, Kiang Saket Energy Building, BLCP Power Station. Mr. Wira Mawijak served as the Chairman. The meeting approved the minutes of Meeting No. 69-3/2561, dated September 12, 2561, and various operational results of BLCP Power Station were reported.
In terms of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), BLCP Power Station continuously conducted activities during June-August 2561, such as the 17th "Nong Nong Rian Dee Kub BLCP" (BLCP Scholars) scholarship program, the 16th consecutive aquatic animal release activity, the 9th "Building Weirs for the Queen" volunteer activity, and the "Maintaining Khameng Khong Man Community Forest" activity to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. Additionally, organic farming projects based on the Sufficiency Economy philosophy and aquaculture farm projects were organized to generate income for the community. Farmers participating in the organic farming projects have already received certification, and training on making wood vinegar was also provided.
BLCP Power Station received the provincial-level "Disease-Free, Safe, and Happy Body and Mind" establishment award and received the "CSR-DIW Continuous Award 2017" plaque and certificate for the 10th consecutive year. It also passed the audit for maintaining ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 systems without any non-conformities. Furthermore, it maintained its status as an Eco-Industrial Factory for the 4th year. Additionally, it supported the Khameng Khong Man Community Forest project to reduce carbon and implemented the marine ecosystem restoration project around Koh Saket, which included Scuba diving training and coral reef survey and restoration for Royal Thai Marine Corps personnel.
In terms of operations, BLCP Power Station remitted over 6,553 million Baht in Value Added Tax and Withholding Tax to local authorities from October 2549 – July 2561. For electricity generation during June – August 2561, Unit 1 generated 1,482,301 MWh, and Unit 2 generated 1,469,573 MWh. The total coal consumption was 558,044 tons and 547,306 tons, respectively. The average sulfur content in coal was 0.43%, which is within the specified criteria.
Environmental quality monitoring results during June – August 2561 showed that the air quality discharged from the stacks and the general ambient air quality in the Map Ta Phut area, as well as the water quality discharged from the cooling water discharge canal and the surrounding seawater quality in Map Ta Phut Bay, all met the specified standards. No mercury, cadmium, or chlorine was detected in the wastewater. The maximum measured seawater temperature was 31.8°C, which remained within the standard criteria allowing for an increase of no more than 2°C from the natural seawater temperature.
The working group monitoring compliance with environmental impact mitigation measures for BLCP Power Station and its coal unloading port has inspected and confirmed that BLCP Power Station has fully complied with various measures, such as the installation of windbreak walls, the provision of noise prevention equipment, the establishment of wastewater collection and treatment systems, and the maintenance of green areas.
