The BLCP Power Station Tripartite Committee Meeting No. 69-3/2561 was held on Wednesday, September 12, 2561, from 14.00 – 16.30 at the Meeting/Seminar Room, Kiang Saket Energy Building, BLCP Power Station. Key agendas included the approval of the previous meeting's minutes, a progress report on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, a report on the operations of the power plant and coal-handling port, as well as the results of environmental quality monitoring and compliance with environmental impact mitigation measures.
Regarding community relations, BLCP Power Station reported on CSR activities from March to May 2561, such as power plant visits with a total of 2,300 visitors, and a cumulative total of 122,407 visitors since 2544. Additionally, support for souvenirs and snacks from the community totaled 1,258,313 Baht from 2551-2561, including the organization of the Sufficiency Economy Organic Farming Project, where 14 farmers received organic farming and GAP certifications from the Department of Agriculture, and the 4th batch of the Community Nursing and Allied Health Professional Scholarship Project, which provided scholarships to 56 individuals, with approximately 400 graduates to date.
In terms of operations, BLCP Power Station underwent an Eco-Industrial Factory assessment (4th renewal cycle) and an assessment to maintain ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications, with complete and flawless results. Furthermore, the plant achieved 2 million hours without lost-time injuries on February 26, 2561, and passed the annual environmental and safety assessment for Map Ta Phut Industrial Port in 2561.
The results of environmental quality monitoring in April 2561 by United Analyst and Engineering Consultant Co., Ltd. showed that the pollutant emissions from the stacks of both Unit 1 and Unit 2 of the power plant were within EIA standards and Ministry of Industry standards, as were ambient air quality, noise levels, wastewater quality from the treatment system, water quality discharged into the cooling water canal, and seawater quality, all of which met the prescribed standards.
Regarding the marine ecosystem restoration project around Koh Saket, corals were relocated for nursery care at the Royal Thai Marine Corps Command, Ao Toey Ngam, Koh Kai Tia, Sattahip District, due to monsoon issues at Koh Saket. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on June 6, 2561, to study and propagate various coral species such as boulder corals, massive corals, plate corals, and brain corals, with a propagation target of 70 coral fragments for the experimental phase and 3,000-5,000 coral fragments for the expansion phase.
The meeting recommended that the project present details for obtaining permission to remove unused materials/waste from the area at the next meeting and support the capabilities of local fishing groups in diving for exploration or other activities. The next meeting (No. 69-3/2561) is scheduled for September 2561, and the meeting concluded at 16.30.
