Suspended Mussel Farming Project

Mussel farming began in 2547. Previously, local villagers hunted marine animals. BLCP Power Station introduced a new concept by sharing knowledge about mussel cultivation with the villagers and designating the area around the power plant as a farming ground. This inspired villagers to change their way of life from 'hunters' to 'farmers'.

High-quality mussels require cultivation in clean water with a stable temperature. This indicates that the area around BLCP Power Station has a good and healthy environment and does not create pollution for the community. Three small-scale fishing groups participate in the project: the Takuan Ao Pradu Small-Scale Fishing Group, the Pak Khlong Takuan Local Fishing Group, and the Hat Saeng Ngoen Small-Scale Fishing Group. This helps generate supplementary income and fosters unity within the community.
