Koh Saket Marine Ecosystem Restoration Project

Koh Saket, also known as Koh Saket Phet, was formerly a significant tourist attraction in Rayong Province, located just 3-4 kilometers from Hat Sai Thong beach. Later, with the development of the Eastern Seaboard into a petrochemical industrial area, coupled with land reclamation for factory expansion, waves and wind eroded and damaged the beach, and Koh Saket has been abandoned for a long time.

Subsequently, the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) handed over the island to Rayong Province and Maptaphut Municipality for care. BLCP Power Station therefore collaborated with relevant agencies to implement the Marine Ecosystem Restoration Project at Koh Saket, aiming to conserve and restore the natural resources in the area to their former abundance.
