The 3/2566 Meeting of the Working Group for Monitoring Compliance with Environmental Impact Mitigation Measures for BLCP Power Company Limited's Coal-Fired Power Plant and Coal Terminal Project was held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Generator Meeting Room, Administration Building, BLCP Power Station. Mr. Damnern Sarasee, acting on behalf of the Committee Chairman, presided over the meeting. The meeting acknowledged and approved the minutes of the 2/2566 meeting.
Environmental impact monitoring results for March-April 2023 showed that coal carriers docked 4 times, with sulfur content ranging from 0.41-0.44%, which is within the specified criteria. Electricity generation from Unit 1 was between 483,423-499,977 MW and from Unit 2 was between 483,319-500,450 MW. Average raw water consumption was 1,058.48-1,399.82 m³/day, and treated wastewater quality met all standards.
Regarding waste management, non-hazardous waste amounted to 39.23-52.49 tons and hazardous waste to 3.45-9.29 tons, both managed according to appropriate categories. The amount of bottom ash transported from the power plant was between 2,382.46-6,281.45 tons/month, and fly ash was between 47,034.58-49,356.64 tons/month. The total number of transport trips was 244-227 and 1,544-1,600 trips, respectively.
Air quality monitoring results for emissions from stacks and ambient air quality from 4 community stations during March-April 2023 showed that SO2, NO2, and particulate matter levels, as well as water quality discharged from the cooling water discharge canal of Unit 1 and 2, all met the specified standards.
Additionally, a presentation was given on monitoring activities for compliance with environmental impact prevention and mitigation measures for May 2023, with the working group conducting joint on-site inspections.
