NCDs stands for Non-Communicable Diseases, which are a group of non-infectious diseases. These diseases are not caused by pathogens and are not transmitted through contact, close proximity, or exposure to bodily fluids. NCDs are related to lifestyle habits and behaviors, including eating, sleeping, resting, exercising, and various activities. This group of diseases gradually accumulates symptoms, develops slowly, and progressively worsens. Once symptoms appear, chronic conditions follow. If not treated correctly and promptly, they significantly impact the lives of patients and those around them. It is found that many patients die from this group of diseases, including diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, stroke, chronic kidney disease, hyperlipidemia, cancer, genetic diseases, cirrhosis, and dementia (Alzheimer's), among others.

NCDs are sometimes referred to as self-inflicted diseases because they result from unhealthy lifestyles, such as lack of exercise, consuming overly strong-flavored foods (e.g., excessively salty, sweet, or fatty), high-fat diets, accumulated stress, regular exposure to toxins like alcohol consumption and smoking, and frequent consumption of grilled foods, among others.
The 6 NCDs with the highest mortality rates are diabetes, stroke and heart disease, emphysema, cancer, high blood pressure, and abdominal obesity. These are caused by 6 risk factors: alcohol, smoking, diet (excessively sweet, fatty, salty), insufficient exercise, stress, and genetics. They can be prevented by adopting new lifestyle behaviors, such as exercising at least 30 minutes/session, 5 times/week; refraining from alcohol; not smoking; avoiding excessively sweet, fatty, and salty foods; avoiding grilled foods; not consuming undercooked or raw food/meat; eating plenty of fruits and vegetables; getting enough rest; not staying up too late; avoiding stress; and not self-medicating without consulting a doctor or pharmacist, among others. BLCP Power Station (BLCP) prioritizes and promotes continuous healthy living and well-being among its employees and the community. In collaboration with all 6 public health service centers: Takuan Public Health Service Center, Noen Phayom Public Health Service Center, Koh Kok Public Health Service Center, Khod Hin Public Health Service Center, Huai Pong Public Health Service Center, and Mab Kha Public Health Service Center, BLCP launched the project "Full Stomach, Full Merit, Full Heart with BLCP" to support, campaign for, and care for community health to prevent chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs). One of several health projects involves hiring the community to prepare snacks suitable for 1,200 diabetic and high blood pressure patients per month who receive services at the public health service centers. The project commenced in April and will continue until December 2563. Last May, BLCP distributed soy milk, low-sugar riceberry rice, and healthy sandwiches from the Noen Phayom community to patients. This project has generated continuous income for the community preparing the snacks, totaling 315,000 Baht.

Mr. Yutthana Charoenwong, Managing Director of BLCP Power Company Limited, stated that from continuous community visits, meetings, and discussions, BLCP found that the majority of NCD patients, especially those with high blood pressure and diabetes, are elderly individuals who require assistance with their diet and the preparation of appropriate meals.
Therefore, in addition to preparing healthy snacks for NCD patients, BLCP also provides knowledge and understanding about self-care and appropriate dietary consumption to help NCD patients reduce complications, disability, mortality, and financial burdens at both individual and family levels, enabling them to achieve a self-sufficient lifestyle and optimal health within a happy and sustainable society.

BLCP contributes to creating a livable society, partnering with the community sustainably.
