The 85-3/2566 Tripartite Committee Meeting of BLCP Power Station was held on Wednesday, December 13, 2566, with Mr. Wira Mawijak as Chairman. The meeting resolved to approve the minutes of meeting No. 83-1/2566 dated May 26, 2566.
BLCP Power Station reported on the progress of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities between May and September 2566, including the Crab Condo Project, the Leaf Fertilizer Project, which reduced waste by 76.24 tons (63.53%), the 'Good Portfolio, Good Education' Project, the provision of scholarships totaling 1.62 million Baht, and the BLCP Junior Tour Guide Project. Additionally, BLCP welcomed study visits from the Supreme People's Court of Lao PDR and the Rayong Provincial Industrial Council, and received several environmental awards, such as the Private Sector Supporter of Community Forest Missions and Green Industry Level 4.
Regarding the operations of the power plant and coal-handling port between May and September 2566, a total of 1,923,839 tons of coal were unloaded from the Hunter Valley source, with an average sulfur content of 0.42%, which is within EIA standards. The total net electricity generation from both units was approximately 4.93 million MWh-net, and a total of 247,850.47 tons of fly ash and 47,204.42 tons of bottom ash were exported.
Air quality monitoring results from the power plant's stacks showed that sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide gases were within EIA standards. However, particulate matter from Unit 2's stack exceeded temporary standards on September 7 for 1 hour due to a malfunction of the electrostatic precipitator. This did not affect general air quality. Water quality in the cooling water discharge canal and residual chlorine levels were all within standards.
Overall environmental quality monitoring between May and September 2566 found that the 24-hour average and maximum noise levels around the power plant were within standards. Water discharged from the cooling water canal showed no detectable mercury, cadmium, or chlorine. Seawater temperature and quality around Map Ta Phut Bay, as well as sediment at the coal-handling port area, also complied with established standards.
The working group monitoring compliance with environmental impact mitigation measures for the power plant and coal-handling port between May and September 2566 found that BLCP Power Station had fully complied with all measures, with no additional recommendations. Mr. Chalerm Poommai, Director of the Rayong Provincial Natural Resources and Environment Office, commended the operations and emphasized strict monitoring of particulate matter less than 2.5 microns (PM2.5).
