The BLCP Power Station Tripartite Committee Meeting No. 74-4/2562 was held on Thursday, December 12, 2562, at the Meeting/Seminar Room, Kiang Saket Energy Building, BLCP Power Station, with Mr. Wira Mawijak as Chairman. The meeting approved the minutes of Meeting No. 72-2/2562 and acknowledged the progress report on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities and community relations work.
In terms of CSR, BLCP Power Station reported on activities between July and September 2562, including welcoming a total of 2,927 visitors and a cumulative total of 136,540 visitors from 2544 to the present. Additionally, over 8.5 billion Baht in VAT and withholding tax has been returned to the local community, and souvenirs/snacks from the community have been supported for the 12th consecutive year. Key community relations activities include: Organic Farming Project, 12 Temples Thod Pha Pa Samakkee Project, Community Development activities, Weir Construction/Forest Expansion activities, Aquatic Animal Release, Mangrove Planting, Mobile Medical Unit, Scholarship Provision, and Tutor Project.
Regarding operations, BLCP Power Station successfully achieved 5 million man-hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) on July 14, 2562, and set a new target of 5.5 million man-hours by January 5, 2563. Furthermore, the plant passed audits to maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications and successfully underwent verification of its CSR-DIW report for the 10th consecutive year.
Operational results between June and August 2562 showed that Power Plant Unit 1 generated a net electricity of 1,483,021 MWh, consuming 560,348 tons of coal, and Power Plant Unit 2 generated a net electricity of 1,483,159 MWh, consuming 552,956 tons of coal. The total coal docked amounted to 1,000,815 tons, with an average sulfur content of 0.44%, which is within the specified criteria. Air quality measurements from the stacks and water quality of discharged effluent, as well as ambient air quality and seawater quality around the Map Ta Phut and Koh Saket areas, all complied with the established standards.
The working group reported on the inspection results regarding compliance with environmental impact mitigation measures for the power plant and coal handling port, covering air quality, noise levels, surface water quality, waste management, ecosystem/seawater quality, water/land transportation, public health/safety, and aesthetics. It was confirmed that BLCP Power Station has fully complied with all measures, including the use of tarpaulins to prevent coal from falling into the sea and no coal contamination was found in the sediment near the pier.
Under other matters, the schedule for the next meeting was confirmed, and Ms. Parichart Atsawakul thanked all attendees for their time. The company provided travel expenses and "khanom pia" (Chinese pastry) as snacks. The meeting concluded at 16.30 hrs.
